Dr. T. Keith Hicks hails from Marion, South Carolina, born to James Thomas and the late Willa Dean (Moore) Hicks, alongside his four siblings: Paula, Ira, Priscilla, and David. After graduating from high school in Marion in 1994, he gained admission to Clemson University. At 19, he married his high school sweetheart and embarked on a journey of ministry together.

In 1996, Keith and Kaye welcomed their first child, Caleb Stuart, followed by their daughter MaKayla Dawn Hicks in 1998, and their youngest, Kayse Diane Hicks, in 2001. That same year, Dr. Hicks assumed his initial role as a Senior Pastor in the Church of God.

In 2018, they extended their family by adopting Kaye’s cousin, Hillary Kaye (Cox) Johnson. Over the years, Bishop Hicks has provided leadership to seven different congregations. Since 2017, he has been serving at Bennettsville Church. In 2020, Pastor Hicks pursued a degree in Christian Counseling and Crisis Counseling at Liberty University, graduating in May 2022. Subsequently, he pursued a Master of Education in Higher Education: Education Leadership, completing it with honors in October 2023. Concurrently, he discreetly worked on his Doctorate, ultimately earning a Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, PhD, with honors in May 2024.

Since tying the knot with Kaye on October 29, 1994, the couple has been blessed with nine grandchildren. Dr. Hicks finds joy in spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, shepherding his congregation in Bennettsville, and educating fifth-grade students at Scotland Christian Academy.
